After over a year of speculation, Rihanna has finally opened up about her short-lived fling with Young Money rapper Drake. Having recently appeared together in a steamy video for their song 'What's My Name?' the Barbados-born singer addressed their rumored affair in an interview with Hot 97 radio personality Angie Martinez earlier this week, while promoting her new album, 'Loud.'

"We weren't really sure what it was," Rihanna explained. "I definitely was attracted to Drake, but I think it is what it is, like it was what it was." Rihanna continued to explain that their brief relationship, which Drake rapped about on his song 'Fireworks,' suffered from ill-timing, as she was still recovering from her abusive relationship with Chris Brown.

"We didn't want to take it any further," she continued. "It was at a really fragile time in my life, so I just didn't want to get too serious with anything or anyone at that time." Rihanna concluded by saying that, while she is currently dating Los Angeles Dodger Matt Kemp, her connection with Drake is still as strong as ever. "Drake is awesome. We remain friends and we had fun shooting this video and working together on this song."

Rihanna's fifth album 'Loud' was released Tuesday (Nov. 16). It features the previously-mentioned collaboration with Drake, as well as guest appearances by Eminem and Nicki Minaj, and production by Polow da Don and StarGate.
