Lil Wayne and Tyga have both made it clear publicly that they want to be free from Cash Money Records and now Rich Gang affiliate Rich Homie Quan is shying away from Birdman’s crew too. However, the rapper has a different reason why he's taking a step back.

Although Quan and fellow Atlanta rapper Young Thug made a name for themselves as the face of Rich Gang with songs like “Lifestyle” and “Tapout,” Quan has decided to fall back from the duo to focus on his own music and brand.

“I have been focusing on myself. I separated from Rich Gang a little bit just to get back to Quan,” he told The Durtty Boyz of Atlanta’s Hot 107.9. The rhymer doesn't want to get “lost in the sauce” and that Rich Gang is only “for the moment.” It’s good to know that Quan still has his fans in mind. He recently just held down a solo nine-day Canadian tour.

Quan also revealed some new projects he is working on. With more than 300 songs recorded, he's preparing to drop a mixtape or free album. “It’s time for Atlanta and the world to know Quan has improved,” he said.

Until then Rich Homie Quan and Rich Gang fans will have to settle for Rich Gang: Tha Tour Pt. 1 and countless leaked records thanks to the internet trolls.
