Report: Jay-Z and Beyonce Tie the Knot in New York

According to PEOPLE, hip-hop's hottest couple tied the knot Friday after much media speculation. There have been several false marriage reports going back at least two years, but this time around Jay-Z and Beyonce exchanged vows in what is said to have been a "private affair" in front of their close friends and family. The nuptials took place early Friday evening, followed by a reception on the rooftop of the hip-hop mogul's New York apartment.

The wedding buzz began on Tuesday when the power couple picked up a marriage license in Scarsdale, New York. Destiny's Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams added to the whispers when they appeared in a YouTube video and claimed to be at an "undisclosed location."

Beyonce's father/manager Mathew Knowles, mother Tina, her sister Solange and the couple's friends, actress Gwyneth Paltrow and hubby Chris Martin of Coldplay were on hand for the lavish party.

The pair have been an item since 2002 and began collaborating together that same year when Beyonce joined Hova on ''03 Bonnie and Clyde' off 2002's 'The Blueprint 2: The Gift and the Curse.' The rapper returned the favor and dropped two verses on the R&B diva's hit 'Crazy in Love' off 2003's 'Dangerously in Love.'
