Rah Digga, Somaya Reece Appear as Panelists on Herstory Tour

The 5th annual Herstory tour takes place at New York University today, and features guest panelists like XXL Editor-in-Chief Vanessa Satten, actress/model Somaya Reece, DMX's wife Tashera Simmons and rapper Rah Digga.

The panel was organized by Women on the Move, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a "positive, inspiring, and culturally diverse environment that encourages women to make it happen for themselves."

The Herstory panel also features clothing line Married to the Mob's Leah McSweeney, music provided by Sirius Radio's Mz. Stylez and S. Whit, and will be hosted by Fuse TV's Dee Vazquez.

"Women On the Move is one of the most influential women empowerment tours that the tri-state area has ever witnessed," Vazquez explained. "In today's society, we need to ensure that grown women, young ladies and girls alike are interconnected as one -- that something personal, something undeniable and ultimately authentic brings them together on one similar common ground."

Though she was quiet for several years due to label issues, Herstory panelist Rah Digga recently headlined the 'Ladies First' concert in Brooklyn, and released her Nottz-produced 2010 album 'Classic,' the long-awaited follow-up to her acclaimed 2000 debut 'Dirty Harriet.'

"It's definitely an album that [fans] can appreciate and has that classic '90s hip-hop that everybody misses or you just don't really get to hear on a mainstream level," she told the BoomBox of 'Classic' last summer. Digga is also rumored to be in the studio with an unnamed female emcee for a collaboration she says "hip-hop purists are going to love."
