The 1st Annual Boombox Fan Choice Awards have arrived, which means it's time to make your vote count. 2013 was a crazy year for music; one of the best R&B songs was made by a hip-hop artist, comebacks happened with very few false alarms (no shade to D’Angelo or anything) and some surefire stars made their debut. There can only be one winner for R&B Song of the Year and the choice is by no means an easy one.

The nominees include newcomers K. Michelle and August Alsina. The former, who's known by many for her time on 'Love & Hip Hop,' released her debut album, 'Rebellious Soul,' which featured the 2013 highlight 'V.S.O.P.' The track uses the same sample Jay Z's 'December 4th' ('The Black Album') did, and peaked at No. 27 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Alsina also made his case for R&B rookie of the year with  'I Luv This S---,' which totaled over 10 million views on YouTube with its accompanying music video.

The comebacks came and they were huge. Daft Punk returned with what may be one of the greatest songs in their discography with 'Get Lucky.' The electronic duo brings along Nile Rogers and Pharrell Williams to peak at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. Justin Timberlake returned earlier in the year with the shimmery 'Suit & Tie,' featuring Jay Z and an excellent David Fincher-directed video. Ciara also came back with one of her best songs ever, the Future-assisted 'Body Party.'

The known hitmakers were once again clutch this year despite the rise of the newcomers and comebacks. Drake delivered another crossover jam with 'Hold On We're Going Home,' and with 12 straight weeks on top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, there's no question that Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines' featuring Pharrell and T.I. was a monumental smash.

Although it was a cut off 2012's 'Kaleidoscope Dream,' Miguel's 'How Many Drinks?' found renewed life when it was released as a single in March and received a guest spot from Kendrick Lamar. Rounding out the list is Chris Brown's 'Fine China,' which takes a step away from the EDM influences of his more recent work, and the Weeknd's 'Live For' featuring Drake, off his debut album.
