Pigeon John Music Showcased in Volkswagen Ad

Energetic rapper Pigeon John is the latest hip-hop artist to have his music featured in a national television commercial. The Los Angeles artist's single 'The Bomb' is showcased in a commercial for the new 2011 Volkswagen Jetta. In the ad, video of Gene Kelly and Donald O'Connor is superimposed into the back seat of the vehicle, where they perform their classic "sitting dance" routine. The song's refrain -- "I'm the bomb, I'm about to blow up" -- is heard in the background of the TV spot.

'The Bomb' is the first track on Pigeon John's fifth album, 'Dragon Slayer,' due in stores October 12. The album is being released by Quannum Projects and features production from Hervé Salters of French alternative music group the General Elektriks. Pigeon John is currently touring the West Coast and Midwest in support of the new album. Check out the commercial after the jump.
