Monica is having a busy week. While she continues to command the stage on tour this week, the singer released the cover art, track list and the title song for her forthcoming album, Code Red.

The Missy Elliott-assisted title track, which premiered on The Boombox Thursday, is described as an "updated take" on Smokey Robinson and the Miracle's "Much Better Off." The "So Gone" singer also lets her 2-year-old daughter, Laiyah, hop on the funky track with a few guided lyrics of her own.

Timbaland and Akon are also promised to make an appearance on her forthcoming LP plus Lil Wayne shows up for "Just Right For Me."

It's been three years since Monica released her last project, New Life, and her latest effort will be her eighth album. But with 10 years of music behind her, the 35-year-old songstress stays passionate about each new creation.

"Each time I complete an album it's a milestone that I in no way take lightly. Code Red embodies my love for true music and an art form that has touched many over the years," she said in a press release. "As we move closer to its release, this cover speaks volumes as to how I feel. Empowered. Motivated. Dedicated. I’m fully immersed in this necessary movement for R&B Music. There’s no greater feeling than doing what you love with authenticity. I give you Code Red."

Code Red (take a look at the cover above) is set to drop on Dec. 18 but fans can pre-order on Nov. 20 through iTunes, Amazon or Google Play and imminently get the two released singles to boot.
