Monica is giving fans a special gift for the holiday season. The singer will release her eighth studio album, Code Red, right before Christmas.

She teased the soulful music to come to her followers on Instagram on Sunday (Nov. 1). "Now I've tried my way but the way that I need is yours," she belts in a snippet that sounds like a gospel song.

It wouldn't be too far off for the mom-of-three to create an album dedicated to her faith either. In her Twitter bio, she describes herself as a "True Believer in Christ" and has posted prayers for her fans on Instagram as well.

Fans will be able to find out more of the sounds of the R&B songstress' new album in person as she tours 22 cities across the U.S. The series of concerts, dubbed the Code Red Experience, will kick off in Las Vegas next week and in New York City on Dec. 13. Singer and hit songwriter Rico Love is also slated to appear as the special guest for the show.

This project follows the release of her New Life LP in 2012. It seems one of her children may be getting in on the act as well. On Instagram, Monica shared some cute moments with her daughter, Laiyah, while recording in the booth. According to Monica, she often records with her kids in her arms.

Code Red, which has already spawned the Lil Wayned-assisted track "Just Right for Me," arrives Dec. 18.
