Missy Elliott Joins Katy Perry’s ‘Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)’
Missy Elliott may have recently entered her 40s, but rap's seasoned vet proves she still knows how to party like a school kid on a remix of Katy Perry's fun-loving chart-topper, 'Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.).'
After a spirited "T.G.I.F." chant Missy sets the remix off right rapping, "It's a Friday night now, here we go/ I ain't no stripper, but I work the pole."
Missy even manages to drop in an anti-drunk driving message into the track about dancing on tabletops and waking up with a stranger in your bed. "Fly high, high, high/ and I can't see so I can't drive," she rhymes.
The verse continues, "Then I wake up in the morn/ Got a guy in my bed like, 'Hello, good morn'/ Don't remember how I got him home/ But Friday night it was nice and long!"
Missy recently opened up about her traumatic childhood experiences and ongoing battle with Graves' disease, but by the sounds of the party anthem remix, she's in good spirits and just trying to enjoy life despite the circumstances.
Missy reenters the remix rapping, "T.G.I.F., now pour my drink til it ain't nothin' left!"
