Michelle Williams, Destiny’s Child: Group Won’t Reunite on Super Bowl Sunday
If you were hoping to catch a Destiny's Child reunion on Super Bowl Sunday (Feb. 3), Michelle Williams has a message for you -- keep hoping.
The trio will not be joining Beyonce on stage during her halftime performance.
"I'm going to be in the musical Fela!," she told WRUG Media in a recent interview. "I hate to disappoint the people and tell them that it's not true."
Williams headlines the Tony Award-winning show, which kicks off Tuesday (Jan. 29) in Washington, D.C., but is actually not scheduled to appear in the two shows that are due to be staged on Sunday. It's possible that's she's just looking to keep the cat in the bag, but insists the opposite.
"I'm so sorry," Williams said. "But we did record a song with each other before the holidays."
Destiny's Child -- Love Songs, a greatest hits compilation, is due in stores Tuesday, and features "Nuclear," the group's first song in 8 years. And while they may not be getting back together this weekend, Williams hinted that it may be on the horizon.
"We have talked about it," she said. "You know, one day soon."
