Mariah Carey ushered in 2017 with a lip sync blunder on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest on ABC on Saturday night (Dec. 31).

The Grammy-winning singer was performing a three-song medley of “Emotions,” "We Belong Together" and "Auld Lang Syne" for the annual program. During her rendition of “Emotions,” Carey stopped singing after the vocal track malfunctioned and threw her lip syncing off.

“I’m trying to be a good sport here,” a visibly frustrated Carey said as she tried to find her place before explaining to the audience that the vocal track was missing.

Carey headlined the festivities in New York's Times Square, where about a million partygoers jammed the streets to usher in the new year. A rep for Carey confirmed to the Associated Press that there were technical difficulties with the singer's performance.

Carey took it all in stride and went on Twitter to wish her Lambs a Happy New Year. "S--- happens," she tweeted. "Have a happy and healthy new year everybody! Here's to making more headlines in 2017."

Happy New Year, Mariah Carey!
