Mannie Fresh Reunites With Lil Wayne, Juvenile & Birdman on ‘Hate’
Ever since Mannie Fresh revealed that he, Juvenile and Lil Wayne were going to reunite for an album, fans have been waiting to hear how the reunited, present-day Hot Boys would sound. Well, today we got our answer. Mannie released a new track called “Hate” featuring Juvie, Tunechi and Birdman, and its everything we loved about the Hot Boys.
Although, technically, this not an official Hot Boys reunion - since there’s no Turk or BG - the bouncy track should remind fans of the Big Tymers-era with its bass-heavy beat, snappy snare and eerie synths. As for the subject matter, the trio raps disrespectful rhymes at their haters who don’t want them to shine.
"All I do is get it, dude you never get it / You be in your feelings too, my dude you're so pathetic / You got too much sugar in your blood, diabetic / You're sick you got the hate disease and I ain't tryna get it," raps Juvenile.
Meanwhile, Tunechi delivers some funny punchlines in his verse, rapping, "Mixing Cristal and Ciroc / I need a name for it, call it Chris Rock / I'm in the mother---er looking like a pile of some guap / Come make a name for yourself / And p---- pop, p---- pop."
Finally, Mannie spits a couple of bars to remind fans who's the madman behind the infectious beat.
"N---- lean with it, n---- rock with it / That's some lean double cup with Ciroc with it / N---- lean with it, n---- rock with it / We got Mannie on the beat, bop-bop-bop with it," he spits.
Cash Money CEO Birdman adds his famous "stunna" one-liners at the intro and outro of the song, which makes it complete.
Overall, it's great to hear Mannie, Juvie, Tunechi and Baby back together after years of fallouts, legal issues and discord between them. Expect more collaborations with this trio in the future.
“You definitely can expect more from this project I’m about to drop with Mass Appeal Records," said Mannie in a statement. "This is just the foreplay, you can expect the eargasm later.”
