Lil Wayne knows a thing about rapping off the grid. There was, of course, 'Rebirth' -- Weezy's eccentric, rock-inspired seventh studio album and through the years the rapper has seen his fair share of collaborations. During his first interview from prison earlier this month, Weezy shared that he would love to collaborate with another eccentric rapper stating, 'I really like my man Tech N9ne from the West Coast.'

Apparently, that's all it took to put the ball in motion on a collabo between two of hip-hop's weirdest guys. Tech N9ne recently revealed that Wayne's camp has already reached out to him to get the two on the same record. "His people have been contacting us already, so I'm anxious to see what he sends me. I'm hearing his camp is all ready to send over some music," he told Vibe. "And I'll be in New York soon so hopefully I can visit him before he gets out."

Tech N9ne also admitted that he was surprised that Wayne even knew who he was, and wondered what particular music from his 11 full-length albums he listened to for his enjoyment. "I'm still surprised by what Wayne said-we've never met him, so for him to acknowledge me was a shock," he said, thanking Wayne for providing this exposure. "You think people of a certain stature don't know about you."

The poster boy for succeeding as an independent artist, Tech N9ne has sold more than a million copies of his releases over the past 20 years. His most recent album 'The Gates Mixed Plate,' a collection of collaborations, was released in July, selling more than 17,000 copies in its first week.
