It's no surprise Lil Wayne has been communicating to the outside world while serving his one-year jail bid in Rikers Island, spitting verses and chatting with friend and signee Drake via phone. Yet last night's call was special, being that Young Money's head honcho punched in the numbers to Hot 97's studio in New York City to speak for his first in-jail interview with Funkmaster Flex during the radio host's show.

At the start of the exchange, Flex assured Wayne that his fans' support during his time away is strong. The rapper, possessing an upbeat attitude, acknowledged the positive backing he's been receiving.

"I can't explain the love and support I've been getting from my fans," said Wayne, who will be released from prison in November. "I never knew it was like that, the way it is. I've been doing this for 16 years now and I never knew it is what it is. It's breathtaking."

Wayne, born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., also told Flex the reason why he refrained from jamming to tunes while behind bars. "I'll be very honest with you, I don't listen to no music," he admitted. "All I listen to all day, if I am listening to anything, is sports."

Weezy F. Baby admittedly pays no mind to other rapper's records but that doesn't mean he's not interested in joining forces with them in the future. Upon his November release, the 27-year-old New Orleans native has hopes of working with two respected hip-hop veterans. "I really, really wanna do a song with either Andre 3000 or my man, I really like my man Tech N9ne from the West Coast."

Before ending the call, Funkmaster Flex questioned Wayne about which of his Young Money affiliates he spoke to while serving time. "I call Drake at least once a week, but I actually call like three or four times a week but he only picks up for me once a week," Wayne said between laughter. As for the Harajuku Barbie herself, Nicki Minaj, the rapper was playful in his response.

"By that being my future wife, we talk every night," he joked. "Nah, the same goes for her. I really don't like to disturb them and bother them in the midst of what they're doing right now. I know they have a whole lot on their plate every single day."

Lil Wayne, who plans to release the 'I'm Not a Human Being' EP in September, is scheduled to walk free before the Thanksgiving holiday. Fans interested in writing to Lil Wayne during his incarceration can visit WeezyThanxYou.com for more details.
