Lil’ Kim and Keyshia Cole Hash It Out on Twitter
Lil' Kim's well-publicized beef with Nicki Minaj extended to include Keyshia Cole late last year, when the R&B singer recruited Minaj to drop a verse on her single 'I Ain't Thru.' During a January concert in Springfield, Mass., Lil Kim publicly called out Cole and Minaj for the track but things eventually subsided, until the Queen B and Cole clashed publicly on Twitter on Wednesday (May 18).
"N while we're addressing everything, Lil Kim and I a r not "friends" I take that term very seriously,' Cole wrote on Twitter today. "We made wonderful music. That is it." Kim, who was irritated by the singer's decision to collaborate with Nicki Minaj, after she contributed a verse to Cole's hit single 'Let It Go,' immediately went on the offensive.
"U got that right. We are not friends. The same way U take friendship seriously i take loyalty serious," Kim wrote, and then continued with a series of messages. "The whole world has seen me extend my hand to u over and over again. Only someone who's trying to build a sincere relationship does shows 4 free & supports. u did not pay me a dime 4 none of that. That warrants some type of loyalty and respect."
"Friend or no friend i would have never let anybody disrespect u on my record but i can't expect everyone to be as real as i am," Kim continued. "My love & loyalty to u got u a hit, ur friendship with ur friend got u a flop," she said, referencing 'I Ain't Thru''s poor performance on the charts.
In response, Cole sent a few more words Kim's way, before resigning from the situation completely. "Kim that was a gr8 look 4 U coming out of jail just as it was a gr8 look for missy to have produced it," she wrote, "All I'm saying is don't have everyone thinking I was disloyal as a 'friends' cause we were never that and u know it. No disrespect."
Keyshia Cole's initial tweet followed a venting session about being snubbed at the upcoming BET Awards.
