Good news for Lil Boosie fans. The New Orleans rapper, who has been incarcerated since 2009, is scheduled to walk out of prison on Aug. 18, 2014.

According to NOLA.com, the date is on record with the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections. Once Boosie is out of prison, he will remain under supervision through June 17, 2018, according to the agency’s communications director, Pam Laborde.

Speculations on when Boosie, real name Terrance Hatch, will be freed have been a topic of conversation on the Internet. Rumor has it that he would be released in November but that month came and went with no freed Boosie.

Even Rick Ross said the same thing in an interview with Power 105.1. "I'm going to put a bag on the table for that boy," he told the Breakfast Club. "You never know."

Boosie was sent to prison on a probation violation and marijuana possession charges in 2009, and had his sentence extended after he pleaded guilty for attempting to smuggle narcotics into the prison. The 31-year-old rapper was also facing a murder rap for the shooting death of Terry Boyd in 2009, but was acquitted in 2012.

Since news of Boosie’s impending release, fans on Twitter have been tweeting #FreeBoosie on their timelines.
