Kirko Bangz Channels ’90s Sounds and Summertime Vibes With ‘Swang N Bang’ [WATCH]
Kirko Bangz recently dropped a new song and video that'll probably have you even more ready for summer to hit. "Swang N Bang" has that funky Dr. Dre-Parliament Funkadelic-Roger Troutman sound that brings you straight back those classic West Coast rap records.
Lyrically, Mr. Bangz rhymes about having fun in his Houston dwellings, and he delivers his words effortlessly.
"Peanut butter seats on my ass, I'm reclining / Gosh, you're so skilled, keep my hand on the wheel / Pulled up on my uncle, had some slabs on the grill / It's going down in the hood, man, it's live in the hood / Today's a good day, nobody died in the hood," he rapped.
The sunshiney visuals also match the positive nature of the song.
The new single and video comes a few months after we shared Kirko's song with Slim Thug called "Addicted," and after that he reinterpreted TLC's song "Creep" with Devin The Dude and Neko Flip," so he's been fairly active.
While speaking to Fader, Kirko took the time to break down the meaning of "Swang N Bang," and he said it's truly a local thing.
"'Swang N Bang' is a part of the Houston culture," he said. "You don't have to be rich to swang n bang. It's more about the feeling when you in your ride. You feeling good, looking good, fresh cut, clean as hell, summertime sun shining, tops drop, trunk popped. Whether it's sunny or gray we're going to ball and parlay."
