Jay Z continues to make moves in the film industry. This time, he's going to co-produce Lin-Manuel Miranda's much-anticipated film adaptation of In the Heights.

In the Heights won a Tony Award in 2008, and it was announced that Jay would be a producer on the project by Harvey Weinstein during his pre-Oscars party on Sunday.

“I’m excited to tell stories from real-life prophets, whom through their struggles have changed the world for the better, and others whose stories are filled with fantasy and delight,”  Jay said of his deal with Weinstein Co. back in September 2016.

In the Heights specifically tells the story of Dominican-Americans in the Washington Heights neighborhood of New York. Jay inked a two year movie and TV deal with the Weinstein Company last year, and since then he's been involved in a number of relevant projects including a film on the life of Emmett Till and Time: The Kalief Browder Story.

In the Heights is set to begin shooting this spring.
