JAY-Z Addressed George Zimmerman’s Threats on ‘Top Off': ‘Try That S— With a Grown Man’
In the hours since DJ Khaled's song "Top Off" dropped, folks have been dissecting JAY-Z's and Beyoncé's fiery lyrics.
Bey's sassy lyrics were determined by fans to be pointed at Kim Kardashian ("I break the internet, top two and I ain't number two/My body, my ice, my cash, all real, I'm a triple threat") and possibly actress/comedienne Tiffany Haddish ("If they're tryna party with the queen/They gon' have to sign a non-disclosure"). Haddish has since responded to the perceived warning, joking that she'll sign a NDA "any day" for Bey.
But now The Blast points out that in addition to shouting out Meek Mill, JAY-Z had some choice words for George Zimmerman, the man who shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin back in 2012.
The Carters have been staunch supporters of Martin's parents, and Jay has a new documentary on Trayvon on the way, Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story. Well, back in December, Zimmerman complained that he'd been harassed by the crew working on the documentary. Zimmerman then reportedly threatened Jay, saying he wanted to “beat Jay-Z” and “feed him to an alligator."
It appears Jay has responded via "Top Off."
"Meanwhile Georgie Porgie sinnin’ and sendin’ me threats / Save your breath, you couldn’t beat a flight of steps / Try that shit with a grown man / I’ll kill that fuckboy with my own hand," Jay raps on the song.
Well then.
Meanwhile, Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story premieres in July on The Paramount Network.
