Of course, last week’s big news was the Jay Z and Solange elevator fight that was caught on tape. The good folks at 'Saturday Night Live' decided to skewer the now-infamous slap-fest in their opening skit of the show’s season finale.

Along with their official statement, Jay Z (played by Jay Pharoah), Solange (played by Sasheer Zamata) and their bodyguard (Kenan Thompson) explained to the audience that the security footage was misconstrued.

According to Solange, she was helping her brother-in-law brush a spider off his shoulder because of his arachnophobia.

To prove it, they replayed the tape with the audio we all wanted to hear.

“Oh my god there’s a spider on you," screams Solange. "Get it! You know I hate spiders," says Hov as he instructs her to get the spider off by kicking him. At the end of the clip, Solange gives Jay another slap just to make sure the spider was actually gone.

It all sounds logical. Ha!

In addition, 'SNL' alum Maya Rudolph made a surprise appearance doing a spot-on impression of Beyonce. Queen Bey told her side of the story through lyrics of her chart-topping songs, including 'Drunk in Love.'

Overall, it was a funny sketch.

In real life, however, the trio released a statement saying that the incident was a private family matter that has been resolved.
