JAY-Z Reportedly Filed Trademark for Champagne Bottle Honoring Sir and Rumi
Not only is JAY-Z is a great rapper but he’s also a shrewd businessman. The Roc Nation mogul is investing in his own children with his champagne company.
According to TMZ, Hov’s champagne company, Ace of Spades, filed court documents back in November to trademark “Les Jumelles D’Armand de Brignac.” In translation, that means “the twins.”
For those who are living under a rock, Jay and his wife Beyonce have twins Sir and Rumi Carter. TMZ added that the documents were filed five days after photos surfaced of the twins with their mom in Miami.
The news comes as JAY and Beyonce found themselves in the news for a video featuring their oldest daughter Blue Ivy bidding on a lavish painting at the 2018 Wearable Art Gala. While sitting down during an auction, Ivy held onto her own paddle and started bidding against Tyler Perry on a gorgeous Sidney Poitier painting.
JAY-Z jokingly tried to wrestle the paddle away from Ivy when the bid rose to $17,000, but she wasn't having it. Ivy pulled her paddle back and bid again for $19,000.
Much to JAY and Hov's relief, Tyler Perry won the bidding war and was able to take home the painting.
Of course, the Beyhive was amazed at how the six-year-old princess could bid on a $19k painting without a care in the world.
As for JAY-Z trademarking a champagne bottle for the twins, reps for the rap mogul had no comment on the matter.
