J. Cole helped launch VH1’s 'Super Bowl Blitz' concert series in New York Monday night (Jan. 27). The Roc Nation rhymer performed for a packed audience at the Kupferberg Center for the Arts at Queens College in Queens, N.Y.

Hollywood Cole, who turns 29 today (Jan. 28), performed a bevy of hits from his latest album, 'Born Sinner.' Backed by a full band, including a DJ and two background singers, the rapper had the crowd bouncing and rapping along to his every word.

Among the songs Cole performed included 'Forbidden Fruit,' 'Land of Snakes,' 'Crooked Smile' and his latest single, 'She Knows.' The North Carolina rapper did go down memory land for two songs: 'Work Out' and 'Nobody's Perfect' from his 2011 debut LP, 'Cole World: The Sideline Story.'

Before Bruno Mars' big halftime show at this Sunday’s Super Bowl, R&B superstars Janelle Monae (along with Big Boi) and TLC (along with Nelly) will rock VH1’s concert stage on Tuesday and Thursday (Jan. 30), respectively.
