J. Cole is expanding his portfolio and is now designing footwear for men. The North Carolina rhymer has partnered with Swiss luxury brand Bally to launch its Fall/Winter 2015 collection.

The capsule includes limited-edition hiking boots, which run between $695 to $1,995. So, yeah, these are not your average Timberland boots. In addition, the collection also offers high-end backpacks priced between 1,250 to $2,795.

"As I’m getting older, I’m learning more about what my true style actually is," Hollywood Cole told the New York Times about the collection. "Becoming more confident in what I like. And I love simplicity and comfort. Comfort is king. I feel at home in a pair of comfortable boots, and I always have a backpack with me. I keep my life in my backpack. Current books I’m reading, my notebook with all my rhymes written inside and my laptop that holds all the music I’m working on."

The boots come in a variety of colors including black, wheat, olive and snakeskin in sizes 7 to 12.

Recently, J. Cole traveled to Jamaica and filmed a video with Bally to help promote the footwear collection. The BBGun-directed short film, titled “Note to Self” -- a song off his 2014 Forest Hills Drive LP -- features Cole disconnecting himself from technology and embracing the analogue world.

“While I was visiting the Bally office in London, I noticed a black-and-white picture of Bob Marley wearing a pair of Bally boots,” explains Cole of the visual treatment. “I was impressed with the heritage of the company and how many people and places they’ve touched that I had no clue about. Jamaica was already one of my favorite places to spend time, but filming there was a way to pay homage both to Bob and to the brand’s legacy.”

The short film is scheduled to premiere on Aug. 10 in partnership with Esquire magazine, one of the leading men's publications on newsstands.

We know it's summertime, but if you're interested in checking out Bally's new collection, head over to the luxury brand's online store here.
