Twenty years ago, Irv Gotti founded Murder Inc. Records and it became one of the powerhouse labels in hip-hop and R&B music. Among the artists on the roster were superstars Ja Rule, Ashanti and Lloyd. The label slowly went into a decline following a 2003 investigation from the IRS and Ja Rule's financial troubles, among other things.

Since then, Irv Gotti has been working behind the scenes developing television projects for VH1 and BET. But now the 46-year-old rap mogul is ready to re-enter the music game with the relaunch of Murder Inc. Records.

On Tuesday (May 9), Irv went on his Instagram page to announced that he's bringing back the most infamous label in the game. He wrote:

Oh and by the way!! I'm about to RE LAUNCH MURDER INC RECORDS!! I got some new artist. New music. Same f---ing MOVEMENT! The Worlds Most Talented Record Label. Everyone had a lot of fun. While I had to re group from the Feds coming after me. Had to plot and plan and fall back while I watched everyone else eat. I watched gracefully. Major Announcements Coming Soon. Who Murder Inc will be partnered with," he conAnd what Artist I am f---ing with!! #murderinc #murda4life #visionaryideas Follow @visionaryideas"

There's no word if Ja Rule or Ashanti is going to come back to the fold since both are now independent artists.

In the meantime, Gotti is currently working on his new BET series Tales, which takes lyrics from classic rap songs and turn them into a narrative story.
