When Eric Bellinger decided to make a music video for his new song, 'The 1st Lady,' he looked to his inner circle of friends and enlisted actress Meagan Good to help him out.

"Meagan, a long time close family friend, came with an amazing video concept after hearing the song," the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter explains in a statement. "I knew it would be the perfect way to bring 'The 1st Lady' to life. She did an unbelievable job setting the tone and storyline. And she kept the substance of the song and the look current."

Set in an industrial warehouse, Bellinger is the leader of an underground group involved in some under-the-table dealings. Despite his dirty deeds, he has a huge crowd of supporters. While it's clear that Bellinger is revered, the only attention he cares for is from his other half and counterpart in the video. Not only do the two show affection for each other in a topless scene, but they prove they've got each other's back when one of Bellinger's dealings could potentially turn sour.

Before things can go wrong, his partner-in-crime shows up with backup. His lady love isn't just the object of his affection but also a strong female figure as well, which is the whole premise of the song.

"Growing up, I was fortunate to have an amazing example of a great woman with my mother," Bellinger said. "With 'The 1st Lady,' I show a different perspective on women than what we see a lot of times in music and media. I want everyone to know there are men out here that respect independent women that do positive things while they hold their man down for all the right reasons."

While Good is behind the camera for this video, her 'Cousin Skeeter' co-star Robert Ri'chard makes a cameo as Bellinger's rival. The actress will debut the video (as well as promote her new film, 'Think Like a Man, Too') on BET's '106 and Park' next week.
