Ne-Yo Enlists Stefflon Don, 2 Chainz, PND and More for His New Album
Ne-Yo is currently working on his new album Good Man and he has collaborated with several big-name artists for the project.
In an interview with Beats 1 Timeline, the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter revealed the talent who will appear on the album. Rap-dancehall sensation Stefflon Don, rapper 2 Chainz, R&B crooner PARTYNEXTDOOR, Latin superstar Romeo Santos and pop star Bebe Rexha are featured on the LP.
Among the collaborators that impressed Ne-Yo was Stefflon Don. She was recommended to him by an A&R and after hearing her songs, he asked her to appear on a track. Although they didn't record their song together in person, when they did eventually meet afterward it was all love and hugs.
2 Chainz appears on a song called "Apology" and Ne-Yo appreciated the rapper's candor on the song.
“This album focuses on the journey of what it is to be a good man: a good man to your spouse, a good brother to your brother, a good person to the world,” he told Rap-Up about the project. “I am not proclaiming to be perfect. A good man makes mistakes, learns from those mistakes, therefore to not then repeat those mistakes. Being a good man is a journey.”
The set's first single is “Good Man,” which samples D’Angelo’s classic ballad “Untitled (How Does It Feel)” from his Voodoo album (produced by Raphael Saadiq).
