Hot 97’s Ebro Shuts Down Kanye West and Candace Owens in FaceTime Call [VIDEO]
Hours after photos surfaced of Kanye West and Candace Owens hanging out together, Hot 97’s Ebro Darden revealed on "Ebro in The Morning" on Monday (April 30) that he had a brief FaceTime chat with the pair.
Apparently, while watching Game 7 between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Indiana Pacers, Darden received a call West who wanted to show him that he was with Owens. The popular YouTube conservative, who has been in the spotlight after West tweeted that he likes how she thinks, was indeed sitting next to Yeezy.
From there, as Darden tells it, Owens asks, "When are you going to have me on your show so I can explain my point of view?"
Darden replies that he doesn't have people on his show who align themselves with hate groups and racists to which she replied, "Well, you are just going to berate me." Darden responded back that "he doesn't berate anybody."
At one point, Ebro called Candace "Candy" to which she vehemently objected to ("It sounds weak"). She then proceeded to talk about her conservative platform that she is known for, and what she stands for.
Some of Owens past talking points include her believing that black people are too focused on their past (i.e. slavery) instead of the future. She also feels that black people live in a “victim mentality” instead of a "victor mentality."
Ebro said he tuned her out for a while, but he did tell Owens that his audience can't get behind MAGA ("Make America Great Again") because the people who are spouting the slogan can't explain what it really means.
Shockingly, according to Darden, Owens says that she would like to go back to the days when her sharecropping grandfather was able to buy land. "That's her MAGA," according to Darden.
So as you can see, Owens' viewpoints will leave a lot of people scratching their heads.
West abruptly ended the phone call telling Darden that his wife, Kim Kardashian-West, is calling him. And that was it.
So will Candace Owens make an appearance on "Ebro in the Morning"? Probably not. But this won't be the last we hear from her. Especially, since Kanye West is co-signing her ideologies.
