Donald Trump Wanted 2 Chainz to Perform at His Inauguration, But He Said ‘Nah’
2 Chainz went on Instagram to reveal that Donald Trump's team wanted him to perform at his inauguration this Friday, to which the rapper replied with a resounding, "nah."
The video clip features the Atlanta rapper feeling a little down about having never been invited to the White House to perform, seeing as how Obama loves the rappers. Everyone from Questlove to Common, to Kendrick Lamar, Chance the Rapper and even Rick Ross have kicked it at the White House, which made 2 Chainz a little sad.
"I seen all them beautiful pics of everybody going to all these parties. I just wanted to say what’s up to Barack. We all came from a troubled past, but I seen him give people some really big chances. But anyway it didn’t happen, and I’m cool with that," he shares in the clip.
But he says that then Trump's people came calling, probably because no celebrity in their right mind wants to be associated with him... well, expect for Cowboy Troy. 2 Chainz response was nope—no matter how much cash was involved.
"I know they only doing this ’cause they can’t get nobody else," 2 Chainz says. "They want me to perform for the inauguration. I had to say ‘nah.’ No matter how much money it was. I probably won’t be going to The White House no time soon."
In addition to sharing news about Donald Trump, 2 Chainz also revealed that his highly anticipated new album, Pretty Girls Like Trap Music, is due out on April 7. He also shared a picture of him and Drake hanging out at the studio (see below). Listen to 2 Chainz talk about his Trump inauguration invite above.
