Diddy Performs With Ma$e, Faith Evans, 112, Lil’ Kim & More to Celebrate Bad Boy’s 20-Year Anniversary at 2015 BET Awards [VIDEO]
Diddy came through with the performance of the evening at the BET Awards (June 28). In celebration of Bad Boy's 20th anniversary, the music mogul honored his lauded imprint's history by revisiting the past.
Fans of Bad Boy's run should have appreciated the thought and effort put into this showing from beginning to end. Diddy started his set off by making his way through the same mirrored cube from 1996's "Been Around the World (Remix)" video.
From Diddy's red, black and white windbreaker to the bright red leather Ma$e sported, the Bad Boy set was a clear throwback to what many call the golden era of hip-hop.
Even Atlanta R&B group 112 reappeared for a quick second -- in all red, of course -- to dive into their biggest hit, "Peaches & Cream."
Diddy returned to the stage once every few lines to dip into another hit from the team -- next up was the "I Need a Girl (Remix)." He jumped, shook and shimmied alongside girls in gleaming red Baywatch suits and matching heels. At one point, it appeared that he actually took a spill into the crowd, falling off the stage and hopping right back up. However, that fall didn't stop the Bad Boy show. Everyone knows Diddy loves to keep it moving.
Then Faith Evans came out in a classed up carmine-colored shrug to sing a few lines from her smash, "Love Like This." Plus, French Montana, dressed in all black, joined the crew with his rendition of Bobby Schmurda's "Hot N----."
Possibly the hottest part of the Bad Boy squad's performance was "All About the Benjamins." The LOX made an appearance to kill their bars but Lil' Kim owned the stage with a surprise appearance. She rose in front of Diddy from beneath the stage, rocking a black catsuit. The Queen Bee popped in right on time to jump on the record "You wanna bumble wit' the Bee huh?" She kicked out one leg, "Bzzz / Throw a hex on ya' whole family..."
Then of course the homage to the Notorious B.I.G. came during his verse on "Benjamins," a black-and-white video montage flickered in the background and a man waved a single black flag while walking across the stage.
Ma$e returned for his verse on "Mo Money, Mo Problems," looking just as ecstatic to do so as he did back in the mid-1990s.
Pharrell popped up onstage alongside Puff singing something about "getting loose." And that was the finale to the Bad Boy set, bringing Chris Brown and Janelle Monae out to do their best dance moves. The only thing left for fans to wonder about is whether or not the whole squad will be doing a reunion tour this summer.
