Last week, Damon Dash and his DD172 performance space put on a showcase of one of the more interesting independent scenes being cultivated in hip-hop right now.

Fans gathered at the Brooklyn Bowl -- a combination bar, restaurant, concert hall and bowling alley located in the Williamsburg neighborhood -- for a showcase of recent local favorites and up-and-comers. For those that couldn't attend, a new mixtape featuring soundboard recordings from the evening's performers -- Curren$y, Big K.R.I.T., Ski Beatz, Smoke DZA and few other relative unknowns on Dash's BlueRoc Recordings -- has now surfaced.

The free recording features cover art with an aerial shot of the packed venue as well as some tripped-out typography that would be at home on a Grateful Dead bootleg from the early '70s. Curren$y will be the biggest draw here. As the night's headliner with a robust local following, the rapper performed some new cuts such as 'King Kong' and the Mos Def-produced 'Breakfast' off the much-anticipated 'Pilot Talk,' which is set for release next Tuesday (July 13).

We also always recommend checking out the Southern concerns of Big K.R.I.T., who opened the show. The Mississippi-based top prospect and recent Def Jam-signee shines particularly bright on his collaboration with Smoke DZA entitled 'The Secret,' as well as current summer banger 'Country S---' from K.R.I.T.'s recent 'K.R.I.T. Wuz Here' mixtape.

The BlueRoc Festival tape is free and you can download here.
