Common Holding a Free Concert to Promote Criminal Justice Reform
If there's any artist who's been incredibly hands-on throughout the years when it comes to fighting for what's right, it's been Common, who just announced that he's putting on a free concert to promote criminal justice reform.
"I'm excited to announce that I'll be hosting a special free concert," he wrote on Instagram. "In the coming weeks, I'll be sharing the names of the artists who are joining me on this historic night ... As an artist, I believe it is my duty to fight injustice wherever it appears and take a stand for my fellow brothers and sisters."
Besides the upcoming concert, Com has been adding more roles to his impressive acting career after being cast in the film Megan Leavey. Last month, he also partnered with the storytelling platform MAKERS to celebrate women, and he even still found time to serenade Brandy at a show last month.
As far as the concert to promote criminal justice reform, it'll take place on Aug. 21 on Capitol Mall in Sacramento, Calif.
