When Childish Gambino dropped by 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' last night (Jan. 13), he turned the television studio into a full blown concert arena, doing two strong performances of '3005' and 'Sober.'

Rocking the drum-heavy '3005' first, the casually-dressed lyricist seemed extremely comfortable switching back and forth from singing to rapping -- not the easiest task to pull off while you're dancing all over the stage.

The 'Because the Internet' creator was joined by a five-piece band, who added some stellar musicality to each song. Gambino also nailed 'Sober,' doing on-the-spot vocal runs, and singing in falsetto almost perfectly. There's even some scatting -- watch until the end.

Childish Gambino will take the stage soon enough when he performs at Lollapalloza in March and at the Bonnaroo Music Festival in June.
