Blue Ivy, Beyonce and Jay Z’s Daughter, Turns 5 Today; Twitter Celebrates
My how time flies! Five years ago today (Jan. 7), Beyonce and Jay Z welcomed their beautiful baby girl Blue Ivy Carter. The young princess turns five today and she is still slaying as the daughter of hip-hop and R&B royalty.
When a Blue Ivy was born, Beyonce was allegedly offered $12 million by People Magazine to give them exclusivity of her baby's first pictures and she refused. Instead, Queen Bey posted them on her official website exclusively for her Beyhive.
Beyonce has done an excellent job of keeping her daughter out of the spotlight only allowing a few photo ops at awards shows and magazine photo shoots. Blue Ivy is also a young fashionista. Much like her superstar mom, Blue has delivered flawless style in designer OshKosh B’gosh overalls, Gucci floral dresses and in an elegant Mischka Aoki “Grand Royalle” dress at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards.
At age 5, Blue Ivy has accomplished so many things. She has appeared on two songs: Jay Z's "Glory" and an uncredited speaking part on Beyonce's "Daddy Lessons."
On Twitter, the Beyhive (aka the fans) went on Twitter to give a birthday salute to Blue Ivy. "Happy Birthday to Blue Ivy. Black Royalty," tweeted one person. Another fan wrote, "Blue Ivy is turning 5 today. She's Blue V now."
Finally, one user reflected, "I remember wondering wtf a Blue Ivy was. She turned 5 today, time flies like crazy. Also she's basically a Jay Z clone."
