Birdman and Mannie Fresh Team Up on ‘Desiigner Caskets’ [LISTEN]
Birdman and Mannie Fresh reunite for the first time in 15 years with their latest single, “Desiigner Caskets.” The song will bring fans some nostalgia as The Big Tymers are “Still Fly” and “Big Ballin’.”
Over a stomping beat, a groovy bass line and bubbling synthesizers, Birdman and Fresh spit their luxury rhymes like its 2003 all over again.
"Hundred, thousand, in a briefcase / Orange Lamborghini Urus with the dealer plates / Told these, hoes, I'll be right back / Another hundred thousand spilling out the backpack," raps Fresh.
Meanwhile, the Cash Money CEO brags about the money, the fame and the hate that comes along with.
"Lamborghini with the red blood on the floors / Suicide, suicide want some mo / Cash, money, big, mansion / Nigga hate, I, oughta smack 'em," raps Birdman, reprising the same flow from the 2000 Big Tymers banger, “Get Your Roll On.” He then adds, "Third ward told me fame came with the drama / Top floor seat so I put it on my mama / Rest, in, peace to my daddy / Seven three billion streams nigga had to have it."
According to reports, Birdman and Mannie Fresh will shoot a video for “Desiigner Caskets” in New Orleans next month.
There's no word on when the soundtrack to Before Anythang: The Story Behind the Cash Money Records Empire will arrive in digital stores.
