Big Sean has come a long way from languishing in mixtape purgatory and is now one of the biggest young stars in rap today. With three albums under his belt, he has built a reputation for dropping hit songs and lauded projects. On Sunday night (June 28), he hit the stage to perform a medley of his hits at the 2015 BET Awards.

The Detroit MC, nominated for three BET Awards including Best Male Hip-Hop Artist, was dressed in a trench coat, T-shirt and jeans as he kicked off his inspirational Dark Sky Paradise cut, "One Man Can Change the World." Then he jumped into the album's official single, "Blessings."

Sean performed in what appeared to be a thunderstorm and was the most immaculate of all of the night's performances. His stage setup fell right in line with his mentor Yeezy's notoriously avant-garde performance backdrops. The rhymer brought things to a climax when Bay Area legend E-40 joined him onstage for his smash hit, "IDFWU," much to the delight of the crowd.

2015 has been a landmark year for Big Sean. He released his third studio album, Dark Sky Paradise in January. He has enjoyed a return to form following mixed reviews of his sophomore effort, Hall of Fame, which some deemed a disappointment in comparison to his high-powered debut. His breakup with Ariana Grande notwithstanding, Sean has been on quite a winning streak as of late and his performance tonight is the highlight in what has been a victory lap for the lyricist.
