A bike-by shooting in East Harlem, N.Y., left rapper Bigga Threat wounded, and another man dead yesterday (July 6).

According to reports, an unidentified cyclist shot the Dame Grease-affiliated rapper, born Maurice Edwards, 29, and his associate Laquan Parks, 28, also an aspiring rapper, as they were sitting outside of a housing development on 128th St. at 12:15PM. Bigga Threat was struck in the right thigh and Parks in the head, killing him instantly.

Bigga Threat was rushed to Harlem Hospital Center, where he was treated for his wound. Parks, however, was pronounced dead on the scene.

"I know he'll be okay, but I don't know if he'll be okay mentally after this," Bigga Threat's brother, Mike Edwards, told the Daily News.

"My son was a great kid," said Parks' father. "He was just trying to pursue a rap career."

Police have yet to discover a motive for the killing, which they suspect to have been related to a recent increase in gang violence in the area. Last year, Bigga Threat, who is aligned with former Dipset rappers Max B and French Montana, fired off several diss records at Jim Jones and Hell Rell, though police did not indicate that the rappers were involved in the shooting.
