Beyonce Taking ‘Run the World (Girls)’ Video to ‘American Idol’
Beyonce is making an even bigger deal of her music video for 'Run the World (Girls.)' After teasers and a perfectionist postponement, Ms. Sasha Fierce will broadcast the video during 'American Idol' tomorrow (May 17) night. The Francis Lawrence-directed video will premiere online shortly after its television debut on FOX.
The video, which channels a femme fatale rebellion led by the BeyBey, was originally scheduled to debut last Friday (May 13). While the single hasn't performed particularly well on the charts -- it currently sits at No. 65 on the Billboard Hot 100 -- since its debut two weeks ago, Beyonce and her team took some extra days to perfect it. Lawrence told MTV he thought the video was "one of the one of the bigger Beyoncé music videos ever done."
Two other music videos premiered on 'American Idol' this season, but both were attached to the reality show's new hosts. The video for Jennifer Lopez's track 'On the Floor' debuted on the show in March and it currently sits at No.3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, while Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler showed off the 'Lolita'-like visuals for his rock-tinged tune '(It) Feels So Good' just last week.
'Run the World (Girls)' is the lead single off Beyonce's fourth studio album, simply titled '4.' It will drop sometime this summer.
