Beyonce Slays 2016 MTV Video Music Awards With Explosive ‘Lemonade’ Performance
It goes without saying that Queen Bey delivered a flawless 16-minute performance and, quite honestly, the best stage presentation of the night (Sorry, Rihanna).
Following a sweet introduction by Serena Williams, Beyonce graced the stage and launch into the album opener, “Pray You Catch Me.” She then segue into “Hold Up,” followed by the fan-favorite “Sorry," then a fiery rendition of “Don’t Hurt Yourself" and finally closing with her anthemic “Formation.”
Flanked by over two dozen dancers, Queen Bey stomped, twirled, twerked, sashayed all across the stage with such fierceness it was palpable. At the end of the performance, Beyonce and her dancers formed a gender symbol for women on the stage. Talk about girl power!
Overall, Beyonce slayed, no scratched that, she destroyed the MTV VMAs stage with her bombastic performance. By this point, the other performances didn't even matter.
Oh, by the way, Beyonce nabbed six trophies for the night, including Best Female Video for "Hold Up" and Video of the Year for "Formation."
Yes, we all should kneel at the alter of Queen Bey. Congratulations to Beyonce!
