Ameriie Teases New Song ‘What I Want’
Remember Ameriie? Of course you do. She's the Washington, D.C.-bred R&B beauty who had a big hit in 2005 with the Rich Harrison-produced '1 Thing.'
Now she's back with a snippet of a new song, 'What I Want,' which she debuted via Instagram. In typical Ameriie fashion, she goes with an uptempo track full of in-your-face percussion. Plus, it doesn't seem like the 34-year-old has lost a step because her voice sounds just as light and angelic.
The recently married singer didn't include any verses in the preview of the track, just some of the hook, which repeats "That's what I want," as big colorful letters race onscreen spelling out Ameriie.
The 15-second clip seems to be just enough to spark fan interest again, which will be crucial for the mocha-skinned vocalist since she's been out of the limelight since her 2009 album 'In Love & War,' released by Feenix Rising Records and Def Jam.
Since that time, the singer married her manager Lenny Nicholson. The two exchanged vows in June 2011, during a beachside ceremony in Anguilla.
