American Music Awards 2012 Nominations: Rihanna, Nicki Minaj Lead
The 2012 American Music Awards nominations have arrived and the ladies appear to be running the show. Both Rihanna and Nicki Minaj lead with equal nominations at this year's show -- they earned four each.
The Young Money MC and the "Diamonds" singer will compete with each other in the Favorite Female Artist – Pop/Rock category, in which Kelly Clarkson and Katy Perry are nominated too. RiRi also gets a nod for Artist of the Year. Her former flame Drake, in addition to Maroon 5, Justin Bieber, One Direction and Perry compete for the same award. Minaj will face-off against Drizzy and rapper Tyga for Favorite Artist – Rap/Hip-Hop.
Chris Brown gets a nod for Favorite Male Artist – Soul/R&B, a category he'll be competing for a win against Trey Songz and Usher.
The 2012 American Music Awards will air live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles Nov. 18 at 8PM EST on ABC.
