2 Chainz is in the holiday spirit. The “Birthday Song” rapper is paying a year’s rent for Deirdre Plater, a disabled veteran and single mother from his home state of Georgia. He also bought her some new furniture.

The 38-year-old rhymer, who also heads the charitable organization, T.R.U. Foundation, learned of Plater's hard times and decided to do something about it.

"Last week was my son's birthday and his mentor sister brought us something to eat for Thanksgiving while dropping off money for some groceries and she noticed that we didn't have any furniture in the house," Plater told CNN. "I guess that sparked my son's mentor Mark Barnes to do something special for us and when he got the call from 2 Chainz about helping a family it all fell into place."

The rhymer also posted on Instagram that he still remembers his humble beginnings and several hardships he had to face while growing up like when he didn't have hot water running and didn't want his friends to know or when he used the oven heat to stay warm.

"I remember going to sleep hungry, I remember a long ass extension cord coming from the neighbors house to mine to borrow they're (sic) lights, I remember stealing cable, cars, clothes etc., no matter how much pain I endured I smiled on the outside, it was my defense mechanism. I remember," read his post on Instagram. In another post, the "I'm Different" rapper stated that is "important to give back when you've got it."

Proceeds from 2 Chainz' "Dabbin Santa" sweaters also went to Plater and the T.R.U. Foundation. Check out his Instagram posts below.
