The debate over the legalization of marijuana just got a little bit more interesting thanks to 2 Chainz, who appeared on the 'Nancy Grace' show to make his argument that the drug should be legalized.

Chainz appeared on the show Tuesday (Jan. 13) for the episode titled ‘#Pot2Blame?’ Let’s just say he was far from the nursery rhyme, cynical rapper we all know him to be.

In the midst of showing him several viral videos of children smoking, Grace, who is anti-pot (except for medicinal purposes), asked Tity Boi why he's in favor of weed despite hearing the stories of recreational use by kids. The MC flexed his college education skills (he graduated college with a 4.0) and gave her a well-rounded response.

“With the legalization of alcohol, you will find some footage like this but everybody is not doing this. Some people actually love their child. Some people know that it’s obviously wrong. So, this is nothing to really argue about. These people are obviously imbeciles. You can’t use this case to define an entire community," he stated.

The T.R.U. head honcho even touched on how taxpayers bare the grunt of imposed recreational pot laws. He shared his own brush with the law, detailing how police pulled over his tour bus and found pot residue.

“For me, I’m a taxpayer,” Chainz said. “My bus get pulled over, and they say they smell weed like they do all the time. They find a grinder on my bus that has .01 of residue inside of it. OK? They lock me up, they strip me, then they find out I’m a rapper and they wanna know how fine is Nicki Minaj. They wanna take pictures, and they wanna let me go. They obviously charge me with .01, I go to court, I go to trial and then they say do you pack your own bags, is this your grinder? I tell them no. Well they find out my security does it, they drop my case and then they pick it up on my security who obviously beats the case. If that’s not a waste of taxpayers’ time and money, I don’t what it is.”

The conversation didn’t just end on the legalization of weed. Grace wanted to know more about his come-up and the story behind his rap moniker.

Watch the great debate above.
