Rapper Yo Gotti has partnered up with fellow Memphis native K. Michelle for the hometown anthem, “My City.” The song appears on the veteran rhymer’s upcoming new album, The Art of Hustle.

Prior to dropping this single, K. Michelle tried her hand at rapping with her remix of Yo Gotti’s “Down in the DM.”

On “My City,” the 31-year-old vocalist belts an ode to her hometown. “Oh Memphis, oh Tennessee, no other place will be home for me,” she sings. “All the people / All the struggle / In a world full of fakes, my city made me a real hustler.”

Over melodic acoustic guitar riff, the “Act Right” rapper reflects on his rough and tumble times hustling on the streets of Memphis.

“Home of the poverty / Home of the robberies / We goin’ through some real shit like nigga don’t you bother me / It’s goin’ down in the DM / Nah nigga it’s goin’ down when I see him / Biggest record of my career, I’m becoming a star / And I’m shooting an AR out the car,” he raps.

Fans seem to appreciate Yo Gotti's salute to his Memphis hometown. One person tweeted, "The city needed it. The best album intro yet," while another follower commented, "This new @YoGottiKOM album gearing up to be a classic #MyCity on repeat."

Yo Gotti's The Art of Hustle will arrive in stores on Feb. 19. The collection boasts guest appearances from Future, Lil Wayne, Timbaland and E-40.
