Xscape Announces Reunion: ‘Thanks to All of Our Fans for Your Loyalty’ [VIDEO]
Great news for R&B fans. ‘90s R&B group Xscape has announced that they have reunited after an eight-year hiatus.
On Tuesday (Feb. 28), group members Kandi Burruss, Tameka "Tiny" Cottle and Tamika Scott (LaTocha Scott was absent) appeared on Big Tigger’s afternoon show on V103 to officially announce that they are back. All of the members went on their Instagram pages to inform their loyal fans as well.
"It's official 'Xscape is Back' Thanks to all of our fans for your prayers & your loyalty," wrote LaTocha Scott.
There's no word on whether the group will embark on a reunion tour or record an album (much like fellow ATL group TLC), but fans are excited by the news.
"The best news I've heard in a long time congratulations we miss you Xscape," wrote one fan on Instagram. Another person commented, "Oh my goodness I just can't believe what I am reading right now.. glory to God."
Xscape was among the first wave of hip-hop soul acts that emerged during the 1990s. Under the tutelage of producer Jermaine Dupri, the group recorded three consecutive platinum albums and garnered several chart-topping singles including "Just Kickin' It," "Understanding" and "My Little Secret."
It's great to see the ladies are back together again, we can't wait to see what they have in store for their dedicated fans.
