Wu-Tang Clan Drop ‘People Say’ Video Featuring Redman [WATCH]
Before the Wu-Tang Clan drop their compilation album, Wu Tang: The Saga Continues, the legendary group premiered a new video for “People Say” featuring Redman on Wednesday (Oct. 4).
Directed by Navegante, the clip features Wu members Method Man, Raekwon, Inspectah Deck and Masta Killa spitting their tough bars behind dark backdrops. Redman also comes through and delivers his trademark punchlines under a hue of red lights. There's also a hooded figure carrying a mysterious box which he doesn't allow anyone to touch it.
"The concept of the video is based on a Wu box and inside the Wu box is the secret to Wu's energy," explained DJ Mathematics about the video's concept to Complex. "It’s sacred but at the same time we want to share it so we give it out piece by piece. But there’s always someone who wants to take too much for their own selfish reasons. All of that transpires in the video."
Produced by DJ Mathematics, “People Say” will appear on Wu-Tang: The Saga Continues. The collection, executive produced by the RZA, will feature verses from the Wu-Tang Clan members as well as rap cameos from Killah Priest, the late Sean Price and more.
"When I first started recording it, off the top I knew it was something special," said Mathematics. "Everybody’s energy on high. I felt the song represents a form of rejuvenation."
Wu-Tang: The Saga Continues will arrive on Oct. 13. You can pre-order the album now via Apple Music.
