Willow Smith Takes Her Artistic Vision Outdoors in ‘F Q-C #7′ Video
Willow Smith’s hair-whipping days are just adorable memories of the past now. The eclectic child of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith continues to showcase her mature sound and artistic vision with the new video for her latest single, “F Q-C #7," which means "Frequency Number Seven.”
The singer releases some energy by channeling her inner chakras with a colorful display. She showcases four chakras by dressing in yellow, blue, red and black while playing four different instruments. Willow also roams through the streets singing in a Tupac T-shirt, overalls and tribal makeup and even heads to the woods.
The mellow tune was inspired by one of Willow’s favorite bands, Girlpool. She wrote the song as well as penned the concept for the video. She tweeted how “exhilarating” the experience was to see her vision come to life.
In an interview with The Fader, she explained her artistic direction and the different versions of herself she plays in the video. "The different Me’s represent my Chakras. Yellow is Self-confidence, Blue is my voice (song), Red is my survival instinct, and the Black is a combination of everything (the true me)," she said.
“F Q-C #7” arrives after she released the D’artiste-produced “Rta" in February. Look for her to perform the new song at the Wireless Festival in London with her brother, Jaden Smith, on July 5.
