Willow Smith’s Album ‘The 1st’ Is Available for Streaming [LISTEN]
Willow Smith, the daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith, celebrates her 17th birthday today (Oct. 31). As a gift to her fans, she released a new project called The 1st through Spotify, Apple Music and other streaming platforms.
The LP, her follow-up to her 2016 Mellifluous EP, features Willow expressing her complex thoughts and ideals of a young girl. Most of her emotional songs deal with various types of love both good ("Warm Honey") and bad ("Human Leech").
"This album is a journey through all types of LOVE," Willow wrote on her Instagram page. "Investigating the confusion of the mind when faced with complex emotions and arriving at the clarity of gratitude. UP we go. ENOJYY this emotional regurgitation from the depths of a burgeoning woman."
In support of her new album, Willow will join Jhene Aiko on 'Trip' Tour next month. The U.S. begins on Nov. 14 in Detroit and will hit major cities like Cleveland, Philadelphia, New York, Atlanta, Houston, Seattle, Los Angeles and San Diego, Calif., before wrapping it up in Honolulu, Hawaii on Dec. 27.
