Vince Staples Performs ‘Smile’ on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ [WATCH]

Vince Staples stopped by the The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday to perform the introspective song Smile from his newly released Prima Donna EP.

Sporting an all-black-everything look, including a pair of Wayfarer style glasses, the West Coast native delivered seamless lines about his career and community.

“I know they wanna see me fall, I know the fraudulent I know / I know they hoping that it’s right back to the ghettos I go / I know my pigment is not that of a businessmen / I know they think I’m ignorant I’m f------ up my privilege / I know that money come and go so money not my motive no more,” spit Staples, while be being backed by The Roots.

Elsewhere during the show, the 23-year-old took part in Fallon’s My First Concert segment and remembered seeing Diana Ross with his mother and grandmother. According to the Def Jam signee, it was one of the best concerts he’s ever been to, just because there was food available.

“There were drunk elderly people and there were food options,” he recalled. “I had never been to a concert with food options and dining tray tables, which makes it the best concert I’ve been to in my life.”

Staples then said that he wouldn’t suggest that children come to his show due to the adult content, but he would still take their ticket money if they came. “I feel like children should not be allowed admission to my concerts at certain times,” he joked. “But send your kids and bring me your money.”

The Prima Donna EP was released on August 26, and it includes features from A$AP Rocky, as well as Kilo Kish. Additionally, the cut “Smile” was produced by DJ Dahi and John Hill.
