Reactions to Donald Trump becoming the President-Elect of the United States have been polarizing to say the least. Across social media, anti-Trumpers are expressing their shock and disgust, while pro-Trumpers see it as a victory for America.

On Tuesday night (Nov. 8), CNN political analyst Van Jones perfectly summed up the anxiety people are feeling right now over Trump being our new President in 2017.

“This was many things,” said Jones. “This was a rebellion against the elites, true. It was a complete reinvention of politics and polls, it’s true. But it was also something else. We’ve talked about everything but race tonight. We’ve talked about income, class, religion. What we haven’t talked about is race. This was a whitelash. This was a whitelash against a changing country. It was a whitelash against a Black president, in part. And that’s part of where the pain comes."

"And Donald Trump has a responsibility tonight to come out and reassure people that he is going to be the president of all the people who he insulted and offended and brushed aside," he continued.

This is certainly a wake up call and a harsh reminder that there's still more work that needs to be done in order to fight against racism, sexism and xenophob-ism in this country, especially, in the next four years.

CNN's political analyst Ana Navarro expressed her own concern about the upcoming Trump presidency, but she hopes that the politician we saw in the campaign, won't be the same person entering the Oval Office.

Donald Trump did say he wants to be President of all of America in his acceptance speech. We shall see.
