Trey Songz Surrenders to Police, Denies Assault Allegations: ‘I Am Being Lied On’
Trey Songz turned himself into the Los Angeles police on Monday (March 19) to face allegations that he physically abused Andrea Buera at a Hollywood Hills party during NBA All-Star Weekend in February.
According to TMZ, Songz, whose real name is Tremaine Neverson, was booked on a felony domestic assault charge and later posted a $50,000 bond.
Before surrendering to police, he issued a statement via his Twitter account denying the victim's domestic abuse accusations. He told his fans that he is “being lied on and falsely accused for someone’s personal gain.”
Songz is being represented by attorney Shawn Holley, while Buera hired Lisa Bloom to represent her.
Earlier this month, Buera obtained a restraining order against Songz. She claims that the 33-year-old singer beat her repeatedly at a party on Feb. 17.
“I was attending an afterparty when Trey began yelling at me, choking at me...and ultimately knocked me to the ground,” she recalled at a news conference. “While I was on the ground, he continued punching me and did not stop until his security guard pulled him off me.”
“I was crying, terrified, in shock and I just wanted to go home,” she added.
After the incident, Buera went to the hospital and claims she suffered a concussion. Her attorney, Lisa Bloom, is also seeking an order of protection against Songz because she claims that the singer's attorneys have hired investigators who have been harassing Buera and her family.
A hearing for the injunction will take place on March 27.
